My Trip to the USA #2 - Crater Lake in Mist
Eng.: Here is another picture from my trip to the USA: I took it at Crater Lake in Oregon in the late afternoon. It shows the beautiful mountainous landscape around Crater Lake in the setting sun and fog. On the lower left you can just make out the lake. I really like the vastness of the landscape and the mood of the sunset.
With a depth of 593 m, Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the USA and the seventh deepest in the world. It forms the centrepiece of the only national park in Oregon and was formed about 7700 years ago by the volcano "Mount Mazama", which collapsed during an eruption. The entire park covers an area of 741 km² and is open all year round. In winter and spring, however, some roads and utilities are closed due to snowfall.¹

Es zeigt die schöne bergige Landschaft rund um den Crater Lake in der untergehenden Sonne und im Nebel. Links unten kann man den See gerade noch erkennen. Die Weite der Landschaft und die Stimmung des Sonnenuntergangs gefallen mir sehr gut.

Der gesamte Park umfasst eine Fläche von 741 km² und ist ganzjährig geöffnet. Im Winter und Frühjahr sind jedoch einige Straßen und Versorgungseinrichtungen wegen Schneefalls geschlossen.²
