USA 2023 #3 - Chipmunk on a tree
Here's another picture from my trip to the USA in summer 2023, showing a cute chipmunk sitting in a tree a few metres in front of me. I took it at a campsite near Lemolo Lake in Oregon. The chipmunks were quite trusting and one even sat in my hand for a moment! This was also the first time I'd taken any decent chipmunk photos since my holiday in the USA in 2014. You could tell that they were often fed at the campsite because they often jumped cheekily onto the table while we were eating and sunk their noses into the bowls. We then fed them pecan nuts, partly to get them off the table and partly to distract them for the photo. Nevertheless, it was not so easy to capture them with the camera, as there were very few moments when they were really sitting still, so I chose a short exposure time with a higher ISO.
